Houthi Missile Fails to Reach Israel as It’s Intercepted in Mid-Air

Israel’s military intercepted a missile fired from Yemen by Houthi rebels, setting off sirens in central areas including Tel Aviv. The Houthis have been firing drones and missiles at Israel, as well as attacking shipping in the Red Sea corridor, and have vowed to continue these attacks until Israel agrees to a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. In Gaza, the Israeli military has been carrying out intense strikes, killing over 45,500 people, including women and children, according to the Health Ministry. The UN has warned that the Israeli onslaught on healthcare and humanitarian access in Gaza is dismantling the means for Palestinians to survive. In Syria, Ukraine has pledged support for the new government that ousted Bashar Assad, and has delivered a shipment of wheat flour to the country. The new government has also appointed its first female interim Central Bank governor, Maysaa Sabreen.
